Moda Group welcomes next generation of property minds to Moda, Angel Gardens
The students, aged between 16 and 18, spent the day exploring Moda, Angel Gardens and the NOMA estate in Manchester, learning about what makes a good community and development.
Team members from across Moda Group, covering subjects including planning, development, architecture, ESG and operations management, spoke to students about their roles and journeys, and how they collectively feed into projects and wider communities like NOMA.
In the afternoon, the students were broken up into groups to devise their own built environment projects to pitch to a panel of experts. These included a hexagonal hive-inspired multi-level community hub with a library, nursery, community garden and more; a brand new schools to encourage more families into Manchester; a forward-thinking Skyline leisure complex with a bar area bridge linking the two parts of the development; and a brand new student centre that put lifestyle and experience first for people using the space.
Some key takeaways:
- Ambition and drive – The students were focused, with big ideas and excitement to deliver them.
- Engagement & Curiosity - The students stayed engaged throughout the day and asked thought-provoking questions about career paths, flexibility in the industry, and even dove into sustainability and ESG, which they already had a baseline understanding of.
- Focus on Community - The students were deeply invested in what Manchester needs: family-friendly spaces, inclusive community hubs, and sustainable solutions for the built environment.
Feedback from students on the day included: - “It was really exciting being able to learn about how people entered the industry and the detail included in it – I loved meeting everyone.”
- “I learnt more about different parts of real estate and the different things that happen behind the scenes.”
- “Made me more confident about applying for real estate.”
